KNIFEMAKING

MY KNIVES

Back to the start

I live at Nes, a part of Ringsaker, which is surrounded by lake Mjoesa at three sides. I was a teacher for years and years. I like knifemaking, drawing and painting, and I make wooden coffee cups. Moose hunting has been my main hobby since 1975, but I occasionally hunt reindeer.

Another main interest is the search for the Mjoes Orm, the legendary Orm of our lake documented since 1522.

I belong to the Heins, the indigenous tribe of the eastern shore of Lake Mjoes since the melting of the big glacier 10 - 13 000 years ago. We survived in he tundra like landscape that was later covered by forests and got the name Heidmork or Hedmark

As an indigenous people
the Heins demand:

All government forests must be returned to the local people.
(The government land is an old theft and must be returned to us with a sincere apology.)

Locally governed hunting and fishing.
(We know when and what to hunt of predators and game.)

Hunting and fishings free for all indigenous people.
(A reward for us still living here.)

Nice hunting weather conditions and downhill terrain at all times.

Establishing a Siberian tiger preserve in Norway.
(The grey wolf is not an endangered species and must be exterminated. However, the Siberian tiger exists in a very small population in East Sibirea. Initially some sheep will perish, but who cares. When we join the EU, sheep will have to be shepherded or stay behind fences any way. The first Siberian tigers have already arrived at Kristiansund zoo!)

Hunting ban of the Mjoes Orm.
(If  they survived  10 000 years and modern  pollution , they truly deserve a hunting ban.)
